Ducks!

To be honest, none of them looked like a Patrick, and I didn't particularly want to name any after real people. Some of them were supposed to be going travelling so it would have been a bit weird to have someone find a duck with their name (or with a famous person's name, unless it was blatantly obvious who it was etc), besides, they would detract from the real people if I had ducks named the same names, and we wouldn't want that.

Haha. It took me ages to choose their names, but they kinda fit with them now.

Maverick is blatantly stolen from Top Gun. I resisted calling one Goose because then the poor duck would be confused. Icepick is a variant from Iceman (again initially from Top Gun) but as I was hoping to get one into F1 circles I didn't think it wise to call one Iceman! The others names came as a mix from other places and from various other people's suggestions. I am very fond of them all now though :D

Ursula is so named because the curly black bits made me think of Ursula from the Little Mermaid :)

Oh, I love Maverick and Apple!! (I should take a look at local stores for some lovely duckies. I never had one as a kid and I think it has a negative impact on me!)

Maverick is one of my favourites. Apple is great and likes to stow away when I go away. I never really had them as a kid, but I love them anyway. Got most of these from the internet. There are some really pretty ones you can get, but some of them are very expensive. You can also get plain yellow ducks and draw on them yourself to make them different.

Well seeing as I was going to be sending these ones off around the world, I didn't think it was wise to actually name them after other people. Besides, if I had CK duck or Bob duck then they might detract from the real versions :P

Your ducks should meet my ducks. Amongst others, I have a fireman duck, a policeman duck and a construction worker duck. I'm thinking of starting my own rubber duck version of Village People. Instead of singing 'In the Navy' they could sing 'In the Bathtub'.

If any of your ducks needing a name were mine, at least one of them would be a Fernando. I seem to have a lot of Fernandos in all shapes and sizes *g*

Haha yes. 10 of mine were supposed to be going round the world and bringing cheer through ducky goodness - duckcheer - but I became rather attached to them and they didn't go.

I think you should get duckie Village People... though you'll have to get the ones to mime and then use other ones to be the real singers!

It took me a long time to name all my ducks, and I had to be careful what I called some of them because I was hoping to get one into F1 circles (I have a couple of ways I could do this) and it would be slightly embarassing for say Fernando to meet Fernando duck etc

I have enough alternate ducks to be the real singers, leaving the gay ducks to do the embarrassing ~~waddling~~ dancing!

As long as it's a cute duck, I doubt the real Fernando would be anything other than charmed by his little rubber namesake :)

These are my beachbum ducks. The Fernando duck(s) are the ones wearing the snorkle - lol!

They're ace. I should invest in some beach ducks :D

I think they'd have liked the ducks, so maybe I should actually send them out after all. I'm just rather fond of these ones now!
